The Wall

I know that a blog entry on building THE WALL between the US and Mexico is pass but I honestly think that the issue will arise again around the November election time. And I would also like to note that in all of the border discussion, I haven t heard the issue of street drugs being raised. If the right wing is so morally outraged about street drugs in this country how come they haven t mentioned the affects THE WALL will have in helping to reduce drug trafficking?


We need THE WALL. THE WALL will improve the life of Hispanics on both sides of the border. Don t dismiss this rant as racism.

That is the liberal way of silencing their critics and cowering away from logical discussions on the issues. I am not racist against Hispanics. I am married to a native Mexican (now a naturalized citizen) and that makes our three kids half-Mexican. I have traveled extensively in Chihuahua and love my family down there. We have also adopted a Mexican girl. I guess you can accuse us of tokenism. We only adopted one child.

Time to Legalize Street Drugs

I am not a street drug user. I did indulge in marijuana use over a three-year period, but that was over 20 years ago. I used tobacco over a 12-year period. Today my drug use is confined to seasonal allergy medicine, a daily caffeine habit, and the rare alcoholic drink. Yes, tobacco, caffeine and alcohol are drugs. Alcohol is just as intoxicating as street drugs. Nicotine is more addictive than some street drugs. Caffeine is becoming stronger and stronger.


I am not trying to promote street drug use. They create medical problems in your body, destroy your moral sense and ruin those around you. I have no pity for users

and I don t buy the argument that addiction is a disease. The government should discourage the use of these drugs, but not prohibit. Prohibition did not work with alcohol and does not work with street drugs. Prohibition is responsible for the violence on the streets. It has restricted the supply making the price high enough for the suppliers to engage in violent criminal behavior and risk jail time.
